Roman Reigns on WrestleMania 40 and Possible Match Against The Rock
Roman Reigns, the reigning WWE superstar known as The Tribal Chief, spoke candidly on the SI Media podcast about his experiences leading up to and during WrestleMania 40. Addressing whether he was disappointed to face Cody Rhodes instead of his cousin The Rock, Reigns stated that his primary focus was being in the main event, regardless of the opponent.
“It doesn’t matter to me. I was the main event. I’m the guy that everyone wanted to dance with,” Reigns explained. He described the handicap of defending his title as facing challengers who were intent on stopping WWE history.
Reigns also discussed the changing plans for WrestleMania 40’s main event. After Rhodes won the 2024 Royal Rumble, it initially appeared The Rock would challenge Reigns at WrestleMania. When asked about a potential Reigns vs. The Rock singles match in the future, Reigns said it is possible, contingent on strong fan interest. “If that’s what the people want and The People’s Champ is down, I’m sure we can make something happen,” he said.

Tommy Fury Hints at WWE Ambitions
Tommy Fury, the undefeated professional boxer and younger brother of former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, revealed potential interest in pursuing a career in WWE. During a recent backstage visit to a WWE event in the UK, Fury expressed appreciation for the wrestlers and the company, suggesting he might “climb through the ropes one day.”

Former NXT North American Champion Oba Femi has been noticeably absent from NXT television and backstage appearances since late October 2024. Following two significant losses to Tony D’Angelo, including losing the North American Championship after a record 272-day reign, Femi has not been seen on recent tapings.
The reasons for his absence have not been disclosed, with possibilities ranging from injury to a strategic hiatus to allow for a creative reset. Since debuting on NXT in April 2023, Femi has been a prominent figure, having won the NXT Breakout Tournament and captured the North American title. Fans and analysts speculate that his return could see him pursue the NXT Championship or be promoted to WWE’s main roster.
