In an interview on the Sports Illustrated Media podcast, WWE Superstar Roman Reigns spoke candidly about his experiences and thoughts surrounding WrestleMania 40. Reigns addressed the speculation and changes leading up to the event, where he faced Cody Rhodes rather than The Rock in the main event. He emphasized that his primary focus was simply being in the main event, regardless of his opponent.
Reigns said, "It doesn’t matter to me. I was the main event. I’m the guy that everyone wanted to dance with. It didn’t matter who it is. They are trying to stop history from happening."
He further hinted at the possibility of a future match against The Rock, contingent on fan demand, stating, "If that’s what the people want and The People’s Champ is down, I’m sure we can make something happen."
The Rock made an unexpected return to WWE programming at Bad Blood last month, but his long-term intentions remain unclear. Fury expressed appreciation for meeting WWE superstars, including Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Gunther, and hinted at a possible future in pro wrestling.
"So guys, that is a night at the WWE complete… I look forward to possibly climbing through them ropes one day. Who knows?" said Fury.
At 25 years old, Fury has established himself as an undefeated professional boxer and could potentially follow in the footsteps of his older brother, Tyson Fury, who had a one-off WWE match in 2019. Tommy Fury’s close connections with the Paul brothers, particularly Logan Paul, who is a WWE superstar, could open up intriguing storyline possibilities.
Oba Femi Absent From NXT Following Recent Losses
Reports indicate that former NXT North American Champion Oba Femi has been absent from WWE’s NXT tapings since late October. Femi lost the championship to Tony D’Angelo on October 27 at Halloween Havoc and was defeated again in a rematch.
The reason for his absence has not been disclosed. Speculation ranges from allowing Femi time to recover from these setbacks to possible plans for a main roster call-up or injury management.
Femi debuted on NXT television in April 2023, quickly rising through the ranks by winning the NXT Breakout Tournament and capturing the North American Championship with a record 272-day reign.
His return could see him positioned as a challenger for the NXT Championship, potentially as the one to dethrone current titleholder Trick Williams.
