Tourists visiting Bali are being advised to prepare for challenging weather conditions over the coming days, as the Denpasar Region III Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BBMKG) has issued warnings about high waves and unexpected rainfall across the island from June 22 to June 24, 2026. The BBMKG alerts indicate that several parts of Bali, including popular tourist destinations such as Badung Regency—home to top resorts in Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta, Jimbaran, Uluwatu, and Nusa Dua—and Gianyar Regency, where Ubud is located, may experience moderate to heavy rainfall. Although Bali is currently in its dry season, the agency highlights that this period will see unusual rain showers alongside strong winds.
In addition to precipitation, ocean conditions are expected to be rough, with wave heights between 1.25 and 2.5 meters forecasted in southern waters, including the Lombok Strait, Badung Strait, southern Bali Strait, and the sea south of Bali Island. These conditions could result in choppy waters affecting maritime activities such as fast boat rides between Sanur, Nusa Penida, the Gili Islands, and Lombok.
Regional Meteorology Head Cahyo Nugroho emphasized the importance of public awareness concerning these weather changes, noting potential impacts on daily life and transportation. He urged fishermen and boat operators to heed warnings and reduce speeds if winds surpass 15 knots and waves exceed 1.5 meters to ensure safety at sea.
